About This Service

The Problem

Traditional journey planners answer: "How do I get from A to B?"

But what if you're already on a train that's running late? Existing tools don't help you answer: "I'm on this specific service, arriving at interchange stations at these predicted times—what are my best onward connections?"

The Continuing Journey Planner fills this gap

How It Works

  1. Find your train by entering where it departed from and when (or its headcode)
  2. Select your current position from the calling points list
  3. Enter your destination and we'll find the best onward connections

We use real-time data from the Darwin Live Departure Boards API, so journey suggestions account for current delays and predicted arrival times.

Design inspired by the bold, optimistic travel posters of 1930s–50s British Railways.

Plan a Journey
A 1930s-style poster showing Great Britain with stylised rail routes radiating from a central city. On the left of the image is the Giant's Causeway. On the right is a shoreline featuring white cliffs. At the bottom-right is a simplified compass rose. The slogan 'See Britain by Rail' is along the bottom of the image.
